What is $GOBLIN

The goblin that paid everyone.

Before you had a bank, a whip or any idea what you were doing, you had a goblin.

Level 2. Five hitpoints.

The goblins east of the River Lum have been every new player's first fight since 2001. Max hit of 1. Never aggressive. Always there, 121 of them around Lumbridge alone.

Bones on every kill, then anywhere from 5 to 20 coins. How many is pure luck. For a lot of Gielinor, the first GP they ever held came off a goblin.

Goblins drop GP, so $GOBLIN trades against $GP on StonkFun instead of SOL. It's the oldest trade in Gielinor: a goblin for a handful of coins.

  1. Lumbridge

    Clue 1 of 8 · The spawn

    It starts where you started.

    Every adventurer wakes up in Lumbridge. No gear, no gold, no idea what they're doing. So they walk east, over the bridge across the River Lum, and meet the locals.

  2. River Lum

    Clue 2 of 8 · The first kill

    "An ugly green creature."

    Level 2. Five hitpoints. A max hit of 1. For most of us it was the first thing we ever killed, and it didn't stand a chance.

    It dropped bones and somewhere between 5 and 20 coins, all luck. Your first GP. Then it respawned 21 seconds later, and someone else killed it too.

  3. Port Sarim

    Clue 3 of 8 · The jail

    The only goblin who got paid.

    Wormbrain sits in Port Sarim jail holding a piece of the map to Crandor. Every other goblin drops 5 to 20 coins, if you're lucky. Wormbrain wants 10,000.

    Red or green?

    North of Falador, Generals Bentnoze and Wartface nearly started a civil war over the colour of goblin armour. Orange clashed with their skin. Blue was not a goblin colour at all.

    They picked brown, the colour they had all along. Old school wins.

  5. God Wars Dungeon

    Clue 5 of 8 · The war god

    Level 2 in Lumbridge. Level 141 in the God Wars.

    Goblins aren't from Gielinor. Bandos, the Big High War God, brought them here to fight his wars. Deep in his stronghold, Sergeant Strongstack still guards General Graardor.

  6. Dorgesh-Kaan

    Clue 6 of 8 · Underground

    The tribe beneath your feet.

    One tribe, the Dorgeshuun, refused to fight. Bandos punished them, so they went underground and built a city of their own, right under Lumbridge. Nobody noticed until the castle cellar wall caved in.

  7. Goblin Temple

    Clue 7 of 8 · The prophecy

    The Chosen Commander.

    The high priests kept Bandos' old promise: one day a Chosen Commander would lead the goblins to victory. Grubfoot had a vision of Yu'biusk, the goblin homeland, and went looking for it.

    Clue 8 of 8 · X marks the spot

    Treasure Trail complete!

    Yu'biusk was never on Gielinor. It's another plane of existence. So is Solana.

    For 25 years the goblins paid you, 5 to 20 coins at a time. Now it's the goblins' turn.

Drop table
